April is Autism Awareness Month! Wear Blue on Thursday, April 20th to recognize the unique and special differences that make us all wonderful. Wayland-Cohocton Families are reminded that students in grade four will take the NYS ELA exam on Wednesday and Thursday, April 19th and 20th on their Chromebooks. Please make sure Chromebooks are put on their chargers tonight and students remember to bring them in the morning.
Wayland-Cohocton Bus 45 is running late. It has experienced a mechanical issue while on route. Students already on the bus will be transferred to another bus and those still at home will be picked up but it will be as many as 30 minutes late. Breakfast will be provided for those students when they arrive. Everyone on the bus is safe.
A few Wayland-Cohocton buses are running late due to the weather. Please expect that if your child rides 45, 60, 32 or 54 students will be late.
Wayland-Cohocton is canceling all after-school extracurricular and athletic activities scheduled after 3:30 p.m. due to the weather conditions today, Tuesday, March 14th. Thank you.
Attention all modified Spring sport student-athletes and families... Registrations for modified baseball, softball, tennis, and track are now open! If you are a 7th or 8th grade student interested in participating in any of these sports, now is the time to get registered! The modified Spring sport season officials starts Monday April 10th, so don't delay in getting registered today! Visit our "Team Registration" link on the Athletics webpage to get started.
The Wayland-Cohocton Prom scheduled for this evening, Friday, March 10th, has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 11th due to deteriorating road conditions.
Wayland-Cohocton students have returned to their normal schedules following the lock-down. The alarm was false and triggered by a student. Wayland campus activities have returned to normal.
Wayland-Cohocton Central School Update: we ask that individuals not come to the school. The district is working on clearing the building and believes this to be a false alarm.
Wayland-Cohocton Prekindergarten School and the Cohocton campus are NOT on lockdown. Those programs are operating as usual.
Wayland-Cohocton Clarification: We currently believe it is a false alarm but are being cautious in our approach. The Wayland Campus is continuing in a shelter-in-place. We will continue to provide updates. The Cohocton campus is not on lockdown.
Wayland-Cohocton Update: We have moved from a lockdown to a shelter-in-place. We will provide additional updates as appropriate.
Wayland-Cohocton’s lockdown system has been activated and for precautionary measures, we are calling 911 to assure the safety of our students and staff. We do not have evidence of a direct or imminent threat. We are just being precautionary. The administration is currently working to clear classrooms and cafeterias. We will provide follow-up after we have cleared.
Attention Elementary Chorus Families: Third and Fourth Graders will not report to Chorus on Tuesday, March 7th. We apologize for the change. Miss Shepard will see you all next week.
Wayland-Cohocton families are reminded that students will not attend school on Wednesday, March 8th. Staff will be in professional development in the morning and parent conferences will be held from noon until 8 p.m. There are no changes for students attending full-day out-of-district placements. If you have questions, please contact your child's school office.

Wayland-Cohocton 8th Grade Families are reminded that the HS will host an information night for eighth grade families whose students will be in high school for the 2023-2024 school year. Students and families will learn about scheduling, courses, graduation requirements and expectations. The meeting is Wednesday, February 15th at 6 p.m. in the LGI.
