The Board of Education will participate in a learning opportunity on Tuesday, October 10th prior to the regularly scheduled Board meeting. In order to accommodate this event, the meeting time for that meeting only will be moved to 6:30 p.m. The meeting will still be held in the LGI.

Attention Wayland-Cohocton Mini Eaglette Volleyball families for students in grades 3-6. The paperwork sent home with your child earlier this week was incorrect. We are off to a new and exciting school year and it was simply wonderful to have our students join us yesterday. The energy and enthusiasm that fills our learning spaces and hallways is rejuvinating!

WELCOME BACK! The Wayland-Cohocton buses are rolling out onto the roads this morning for our first AM run on the first day of school of the 2023-2024 school year! Please be ready a few minutes early and remember that buses might also run a little later than normal the first few weeks of school. As you commute to work or are out and about, please watch for our buses and students walking to and from the campuses. Give yourself a few extra minutes for the morning commute. Good Morning WCCS Families: Reminder that school supplies are provided by the district. Students need to have appropriate sneakers and clothing (HS& MS) for physical education and it is recomended that students have a backpack or bag to carry homework and other items to home and back. Please remember, that WCCS has qualified for free breakfast and lunch for all families. We look forward to seeing you at Open House on Tuesday, September 5th. Students' first day of school is Thursday, September 7th.
Wayland-Cohocton Elementary Families: If you haven't already done so - please turn in your transportation request forms if your child will be need pick-up/drop-off at a location other than your home. If you are the parent of an incoming kindergarten student and have not already done so, please register for Kinder Camp. This is an important opportunity to become familiar with Wayland-Cohocton Elementary School, kindergarten staff and teachers and expectations.
As part of the summer maintenance work at Wayland-Cohocton, the Field House parking lot is scheduled to be remilled the week of July 31st through August 4th. Weather permitting the parking lot should reopen on August 7th.
The community is asked to respect barricades and to use the alternative entrances that will be marked. The High School entrance adjacent to the fiberglass Eagle will be open for access to the weight room. Student athletes attending training sessions will receive specific information from their coaches on alternative plans and how to access the building. Any community programs accessing the soccer fields or tennis courts will need to park in the High School parking lot and walk to the fields on the grass or sidewalks, or park in the Elementary School parking lot near the playground.
The shipping and receiving area of the school (adjacent to the rear of the Field House, Greenhouse, Elementary and Middle School Cafeteria, will not be accessible. We ask that individuals not park there. Please do not drive across the school yards or fields in order to access areas that are otherwise accessed by the Field House parking lot.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to upkeep and maintain our facilities.
Don't forget children 18 and under can get free breakfast (8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and lunch (11:30 a.m. to noon) in the Wayland-Cohocton Middle School Cafeteria through Aug. 10th. No qualifications or paperwork are required. Enter at the Middle School doors (under the clock) on the Wayland campus. Children may walk or ride their bikes if they are an appropriate age to do so. Meals must be eaten in the cafeteria. Adults are welcome to accompany children and bring along a snack or lunch for themselves. Wayland-Cohocton Elementary Eagle Families: Wednesday, June 21st and Thursday, June 22nd, elementary parent pick-up will begin at 11:20 am and buses are expected to leave the bus loop at approximately 11:40 am. To ensure a smooth and safe dismissal, your child should keep their normal dismissal routine. We wish you a safe and joyful summer.

Our Fourth Grade EOY Field Trip to Camp Stella Maris is a go today...with a drizzle-free forecast slated until noon. We are excited that Mother Nature was not able to rain our fourth graders' parade!
