Hello PreK Families! Remember that Playground and Popsicles is this Friday, July 21st from 3:30-5:30pm at the Cohocton building to meet the new Early Childhood Coordinator, Dr. Katie Recktenwald. Please stop by to say hi and eat a yummy treat!

Don't forget children 18 and under can get free breakfast (8 a.m. to 9 a.m.) and lunch (11:30 a.m. to noon) in the Wayland-Cohocton Middle School Cafeteria through Aug. 10th. No qualifications or paperwork are required. Enter at the Middle School doors (under the clock) on the Wayland campus. Children may walk or ride their bikes if they are an appropriate age to do so. Meals must be eaten in the cafeteria. Adults are welcome to accompany children and bring along a snack or lunch for themselves. Menus can be found on the WCCS App or at https://www.wccsk12.org/documents/dining-services/menus/106163.

‘22-’23 PreK Families: Please submit your responses to the ThoughtExchange survey emailed to you last week. If you have already submitted your responses, you may want to take another look to see what others have had to say as you can “rate” their responses as well. We appreciate you taking the time to respond as it allows us to make improvements in upcoming years.
PreK Update: Due to the pending inclement weather, we have made some changes to our Friday, June 16th schedule: PreK 3 Field Day will be from 10 am - 11 am. Please come to the main office to sign in. Families will start the day in your child's classroom and then proceed to the cafeteria for lunch. After lunch, families will be able to sign out their children with classroom staff.
Our PreK 4 schedule is not changing. After your child's ceremony, families are welcome to take pictures in the building/classroom with your child. Lunch will be provided in the cafeteria at the conclusion of your child's moving up ceremony. We were able to make changes with our fun activities that were planned for Friday. We will have bounce houses on our campus tomorrow for students to enjoy! We appreciate your understanding with our changes. Please contact us at 585-384-5234 if you have any questions.

If you would like to learn more about autism or learn how you can get involved with a Kindness Campaign - check out the Autism Speaks website at https://www.autismspeaks.org/world-autism-month. Autism or autism spectrum disorders affect an estimated one in 36 children in the United States. (Thanks Mrs. Palmiter for organizing WC’s Blue Day!)

Wayland-Cohocton Central School Update: we ask that individuals not come to the school. The district is working on clearing the building and believes this to be a false alarm.
Wayland-Cohocton Prekindergarten School and the Cohocton campus are NOT on lockdown. Those programs are operating as usual.
Wayland-Cohocton Clarification: We currently believe it is a false alarm but are being cautious in our approach. The Wayland Campus is continuing in a shelter-in-place. We will continue to provide updates. The Cohocton campus is not on lockdown.
