Wishing our Wayland-Cohocton community a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving!

Each month the WC Prekindergarten School hosts a family engagement day. This month’s theme was nursery rhymes. Students had prepared songs to sing to their families and guests in their classrooms and then there were turkey-themed arts and crafts to make and some extra fun in the gym. Students participated in “I Dare” tables with new activities or edible goodies to expand their growth and knowledge. There was a lot of learning and sharing going on!

WC;s own Ms. Kelly Brittingham taught the CPR class as a certified instructor and each participant left with a safety mask for administering CPR. Connie Terry of the Steuben Prevention Coalition Opioid Committee trained the attending staff in the administration of Narcan to combat opioid overdose. Each attendee was presented with two doses of Narcan, gloves, and a safety mask. Training was organized by Director of Facilities and Safety Scott Manne.

This event is a great opportunity for families looking for special education and disability resources. Save the date for Saturday, November 15th from 1 to 4 pm at Avon Middle School.
