The following message has been emailed to families:

Dear Wayland-Cohocton Families and Employees,

One day, probably sooner than we expect, a snow day will be upon us. I am reaching out to let you know how Wayland-Cohocton will handle such instances.

Although some area school districts have done away with traditional snow days in favor of remote learning, Wayland-Cohocton will continue to utilize the traditional snow day for inclement weather. Therefore, it is vitally important that families have up-to-date contact information for cancellations, delayed arrivals and early dismissals. If you have blocked calls or texts from the school, please know this means you will not receive such calls for snow days or other emergency situations.

If you would like to address changing your information including phone numbers, please contact Stephanie Pickard at 585-213-4356. If you have blocked calls and texts you will need to manage those blocks through your service provider. Also, please make sure your emergency contact information is correct, including other individuals. In the event of an early dismissal due to weather, students will be dismissed to the bus/parent pick up as would be standard for that day.

If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s school office for additional assistance.

Sincerely,

Eileen Feinman
Superintendent of Schools
