This notice is sent pursuant to New York Governor Executive Order No. 202.26 to provide information regarding the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District’s (the “School District”) 2020 Annual Meeting and General Election.
Date of the Election: Tuesday, June 9, 2020 (via absentee ballot only, per the Order)
The Our Schools Wayland-Cohocton Budget Issue will be mailed to district residents on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Budget Hearing to be held remotely on May 26, 2020 at 6 p.m. The adjourned Budget Hearing will be made available for viewing on the district website under the News section beginning on May 27, 2020. Definition of Qualified Voter: A person shall be entitled to vote in the School District’s 2020 Annual Meeting and Election, who is:
- A citizen of the United States
- Eighteen years of age
- A resident within the school district for a period of 30 days preceding June 9, 2020; and accordance with the provisions of section 5-106 of the Election Law.
Absentee Ballot:
In accordance with Executive Order 202.26, absentee ballots will be mailed by the District to registered voters in each household on Tuesday, May 27, 2020. Ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, in order to be counted. Ballots postmarked June 9 but not received on June 9 will not be counted. There will be drop-off available on the Wayland campus from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the MS entrance (front bus loop). All necessary health and safety precautions will be taken.
