Dear Wayland-Cohocton
CSD Parent/Guardian:
We are excited to once again extend our Pilot Program
for our Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program in addition
to our Free Meal Program.
In the past the charge for reduced breakfast and lunch,
for those students who were eligible was $.25. This
school year we will again offer a reduced meal at no
cost to you.
Our intent is to insure that every student eligible
receives healthy nutritious meals during the school day.
Many studies have been done on nutrition and the effects
on learning. The results to these studies consistently
show that students that eat nutritious meals improve
their grades, are able to pay attention easier in class,
decrease disruptive behavior, decrease tardiness and
absenteeism and will have fewer visits to the nurse.
I would like to remind you that our free and reduced
program is completely confidential. This is achieved
with the use of the school photo ID cards that each
student is provided with. All students swipe his or her
card when going through the cafeteria line; therefore,
no one is able to distinguish if a student pays for a
meal or if it is a free or reduced. You are also able to
put money on your students account on line as well as
view all transactions made on your child’s account. This
may be done by going to
mynutrikids.com.
Please take a moment to look over the free and reduced
price eligibility income chart to determine if your
child/children are eligible for free/reduced meals. The
chart is part of the Free/Reduced Application.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
contact David Mastin, Business Manager at 728-2212 or
Deb Mehlenbacher, Cafeteria Manager at 585-728-2150.
Sincerely,
David Mastin
Business Manager
